Celadon vase in Song style - Ceramic - China - 20th century

About 20 cm tall, weighs 430 grams. There are traces of glue at the base because it was glued to the base of a lamp. This object is a Chinese or Korean vase glazed in Celadon (known in Chinese as Qingci 青瓷). The specific shape of the elongated body with a swelling at the top and the slightly flared rim closely resembles the classic style of garlic-head vases (suantouping 蒜头瓶) or variants of bottle vases from the Song, Ming, or Qing dynasties. The pale green/blueish glassy glaze, with its soft jade-like appearance, is characteristic of Celadon ceramics. The glaze covers the entire body and stops distinctly short of the foot. In the lower images one can notice an unglazed foot ring (footrim), with an exposed clay body of grayish-brown color, showing traces of ferric oxidation due to firing in a kiln (a typical feature of pieces fired at high temperatures, like those historically from the Longquan kilns).
