Carlsberg – vintage cardboard advertisement/display –...

Carlsberg – vintage cardboard advertising/display – Dansk Friskhed – Belgium – about 48 × 17 cm Description Very special vintage Carlsberg advertisement board / counter display, made from sturdy cardboard. The front shows a classic Carlsberg beer glass and green bottle, combined with the red historical Carlsberg logo and the Danish reference: “Dansk Friskhed” Furthermore, on the board: “Fris getapt (5°), nog fijner” At the bottom the Belgian distributor is listed: “Brouwerij Haelterman – Laneaustraat 115-133 – 1020 Brussels” A notable detail is the back side. The board still has the original cardboard fold-out stand, allowing it to be set up originally as a counter or hospitality display. On the back there is also an old Belgian fiscal/printing seal, a nice detail for collectors. Specifications * Brand: Carlsberg * Type: advertisement board / counter display * Material: cardboard * Origin of execution: Belgium * Width: about 48 cm * Height: about 17 cm * Inscription: “Dansk Friskhed” * Inscription: “Fris getapt (5°), nog fijner” * Belgian mention: Brouwerij Haelterman, Brussels * Original fold-out cardboard stand present * Old fiscal/printing seal on the back Period Probably the second half of the 1960s / 1970s. A useful clue is that Haelterman obtained the Belgian import rights for Carlsberg from 1964. This means this particular Belgian advertising edition cannot be older than 1964. On the back there is still the original Belgian fiscal advertising seal, with a date stamp 15-05-1970. An interesting original detail that also helps dating this vintage Carlsberg display. Condition Good original vintage condition. There are age- and use-related signs fitting for a cardboard hospitality display of this age. There are light damage and wear to some corners and edges, small stains and superficial traces. The back also shows signs of age. The important plus points are that the printing is still nicely clear, the Carlsberg logo is strongly present, and the original fold-out stand is still present. Not restored. The photos are part of the condition description. Shipping Because of the fragile old cardboard, the board will be packed flat, securely and carefully protected, so that the edges and the original stand are as well protected as possible during transport.
