全部拍賣 / Miscellaneous / Candlestick Ram heads - Neoclassical Style / Louis XVI (2) - Gold metal, Marble
Impressive pair of five-light candelabra of extraordinary French craftsmanship, dating from the early decades of the twentieth century (circa 1900-1930). The candelabra stand out for their grand stage presence, substantial dimensions, and the extraordinary richness of decorative details. Originating from France, these pieces are incredibly meticulously hand-worked and are rich in references to Neoclassical taste and the Louis XVI style. The central body, cast in a gold-toned metal that presents the visual richness of gilded bronze (or high-quality gilded brass), is a triumph of chasing and intricate details. The most evocative iconographic element is undoubtedly the finely modeled ram heads, from which the sculpted arms extend with vegetal motifs and decorative curls, designed to hold 5 candles each. The base is made of precious veined marble, elegantly resting on four gilded feet. These candelabra are not simply objects, but real sculptures that capture light and admiration, a testimony to the French craftsmanship of a bygone era. - Period: Early Twentieth Century / 1900-1930 - Style: Neoclassical / Louis XVI (Early 1900s classical taste) - Provenance: France - Number of lights: 5 per candelabrum - Provenance: France - Candelabrum 1: Weight: 5.400 kg | Height: 44.5 cm | Maximum width: 27 cm - Candelabrum 2: Weight: 5.450 kg | Height: 43.5 cm | Maximum width: 27.4 cm - (Total weight of the pair: almost 11 kg) - Materials: Golden metal (bronze/brass), marble base.
