Candelabrum - Bronze - Pair of Candleholders

Pair of antique Empire-style chandeliers, made in bronze in France in the 19th century. They are in very excellent condition with some normal traces of aging (see photos) Height: 26 cm, base 12.5cm These candelabras represent the elegance of the French Empire style, an artistic movement that flourished during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte in the early 19th century. The Empire style is characterized by its classical lines, the use of neoclassical motifs, the rich gilding in bronze, and the use of precious marble for the bases, reflecting the power and grandeur of the Napoleonic era. Candelabras of this period featured elaborate marble bases, columnar shafts, and ornamental arms inspired by Greco-Roman antiquity. These pieces are particularly appreciated by collectors of period furniture and French antiquarian items, as well as enthusiasts of Neoclassical decorative art and interior designers seeking prestigious elements for classic interiors. The combination of finely worked gilded bronze and noble marble gives these candelabras superior aesthetic and historical value. Their dramatic presence and the quality of craftsmanship make them objects of great interest for those looking to enrich luxurious interiors or create a focal point of refined elegance, highly sought after in the international antique market.
