(C) PRE-WAR MARLIN MODEL 1895 LEVER ACTION 45-70 RIFLE This large frame Marlin model was introduced in 1895 and produced through 1917. The rear stock appears to be a replacement or altered with butt plate top tang filler, a homemade butt plate and a large screw through the wrist.. The forearm is shy of metal having been refinished at one time. Receiver retains approximately 40% blue drifting patina. Barrel and tube are drifting but retain a bluish hue. All legends are sharp.
