全部拍賣 / Ancient Art / Budo: The Vine - Wood - Gono Seifu - Japan - Shōwa period (1926-1989)
Here is a superb creative Kokeshi doll (sosaku) carved and hand-engraved from solid wood, made by the renowned artist Gono Seifu (1927-2003). The kimono dyed in a deep green is adorned with delicate pyrograved and painted botanical motifs, hence its name Budo (the vine). Overall vintage condition is good with light signs of wear and a natural age crack at the top of the hair area (visible in the photos), adding all its patina to the piece. Dimensions: H 21.5 x D 10 cm A rare piece of absolute elegance. Kokeshi dolls are now genuine collectibles. Please refer to the photos; they are an integral part of the listing. Tracked and insured shipping.
