Catalog of the exhibition organized to mark the centennial of the birth of Georges Braque (1882–1963), presented at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux from May 14 to September 1, 1982, then at the Museum of Modern Art in Strasbourg from September 11 to November 28, 1982. This exhibition traces Georges Braque’s European career and the major stages of his artistic evolution, from his early Fauvist works to his Cubist compositions and the major works of his mature period. The book features an extensive collection of black-and-white and color illustrations, including, notably, landscapes of L’Estaque, Cubist compositions, and still lifes.
