Birat Migdal Oz – The First Chasidic Edition of This Section of the

Birat Migdal Oz, Birkot Shamayim, the third part of the Siddur Ya’avetz (Beit Yaakov), edited by the holy and illustrious Rabbi Yaakov Emden. Berdychiv, 1836. Printed by Meir Chaim Rotin Barg. The first Chasidic edition of this section. Rabbi Yaakov Emden’s prayer book was warmly received among Hasidim. The second edition was printed in Korets in 1818, at the initiative and with the approbations of leading Hasidic rebbes, including the holy Ohev Yisrael of Apt and the holy Rebbi Mordechai of Chernobyl. Only the first two sections were printed in the Korets edition. In 1836, the third section, the present volume, was printed in Berdychiv, at the initiative and with the approbations of the holy Rebbi Mordechai of Chernobyl and the holy Rebbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. In his approbation, Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin wrote: “It is founded upon pillars of pure gold, its source being to teach the proper path with clear understanding in matters of prayer.” [2], 4-225 34, 37-362, [3] Leaves.
