Bill Male "Woman Ironing"

La Prairie, Quebec. C. 1990. Male’s scenes of everyday life often centre on family and domestic routines, but his solitary women can also carry a distinctly contemplative mood. Here, the familiar task of ironing becomes a quiet portrait of rural life; the lone figure absorbed in her work within the stillness of the home. Signed, "Male", lower right.
