Belle Doxx - Untitled

In Dangerzone Belle Doxx builds a layered composition around themes such as good and evil, truth, hypocrisy, chaos, desire and human contradiction. Text fragments such as “Sinners – Saints”, “Aren’t we all sinners”, “Pleasure / Madness”, “Destruction”, “Chaos” and “Fucking Hypocrits” do not function as loose slogans, but as parts of an inner dialogue. Centered is the word “DANGERZONE”, which hangs above the composition like a kind of warning sign. The work suggests a mental border zone: the place where pleasure can turn into madness, conviction into hypocrisy and order into chaos. Also recurring symbols from Belle Doxx’s oeuvre are present: skulls, eyes, lightning bolts, extraterrestrial figures and money symbols. These elements give the work something of a personal visual alphabet. The text “Are you coming to space with me…” adds there an almost escapist dimension, as if the work is constantly balancing between reality and the longing to escape it. The sentence about truth and the relative importance of the individual also gives the composition an existential layer. In contrast to the louder words like Chaos and Destruction stands the idea that not everything is controllable and that some things simply have to be accepted as they are. Visually the work combines a light background with black, gray and striking neon pink accents. The handwritten texts, drawings, overpaintings and consciously visible corrections reinforce the spontaneous and autobiographical character. The result moves between urban contemporary, neo-expressionism, street art and pop art. About Belle Doxx Belle Doxx is a Dutch contemporary artist with a recognizable visual language in which painting, text, symbolism, personal observations and influences from pop culture and street art come together. Her work has been presented, among other things, during a solo exhibition in Shelter Amsterdam, a solo exhibition at Gallery BLNDSH in The Hague and at the NOCKNOCK Art Fair. She also participated in a group exhibition at Black Art Gallery in Antwerp, where works by, among others, Harif Guzman and Stig De Block were shown. Belle Doxx has also collaborated with the international artist Machine Gun Kelly, for whom she developed artwork for merchandise. In 2025 her work was also presented by Playboy. Within her oeuvre themes such as identity, ego, freedom, faith, good and evil, social expectations and human hypocrisy recur regularly. Her paintings often function as visual diaries in which personal thoughts and universal questions run together.
