Belgium - Military medal - Belgian decorations and documents

historical military collection and personal document set (militaria) in the name of Jean Tytgat (born in 1918 in Ghent), a well-known figure from Ghent who, among other things, wrote about his experiences as a political prisoner in the Dachau concentration camp. Bruylant, Jean C. Born in: Dendermonde, on June 14, 1906 Rank: Sergeant War service with the 4th Medical Corps. The fact that the mutation forms and the official military war-service card of Sergeant Jean C. Bruylant (born in 1906) are kept together with the Livret Militaire (Military Booklet) and the concentration-camp documents of Jean Tytgat (born in 1918) indicates that their military careers or their personal lives after the war became intertwined. Given the age difference of 12 years, Jean Bruylant could have been an older cousin, a brother-in-law, or a close comrade from the army (the 4th Medical Corps) whose main papers were placed after the war in the joint family archives.
