A very attractive early UK mono pressing of Rubber Soul, featuring the desirable XEX 579-4 / XEX 580-4 matrix combination and original black-and-yellow Parlophone labels. This -4/-4 version belongs to the early production history of the album and followed the famous original -1/-1 "Loud Cut". The -4 recut is an important early mastering variation in its own right and represents one of the key original UK mono configurations collectors look for. The labels retain the classic period Parlophone design with "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD." rim text and the original "SOLD IN U.K." wording. Side 2 also carries the embossed K/T purchase-tax code, a very nice original period detail. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original laminated UK sleeve remains very presentable and structurally strong. There is some light edge and corner wear, together with a small seam split along the upper edge. Importantly, the spine remains fully readable and clean, which is always a nice detail on an original copy. The front retains good laminate sheen and the overall presentation remains very attractive → VG+ Vinyl (VG+): The vinyl retains a beautiful deep gloss and presents exceptionally well overall. Only a couple of very light superficial hairlines are visible under strong light, together with minimal signs of previous play. There are no deep or feelable marks, and visually this sits very close to EX condition.
