Very beautiful and rare cylindrical and slender vase of more than 100 years, made of pale green glass, created around 1900-1910 in Bohemia (Czech Republic). It features a satin finish and is surmounted by a substantial mounting in tin with a gray-silver tone, probably tin. The mount, worked in relief, displays a rich vegetal decor composed of flowers, leaves and stylized elements typical of the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The very vertical silhouette is balanced by a slightly flared base, while the straight neck is highlighted by a metal ring. The contrast between the soft translucence of the pale green glass and the darker, sculptural material of the mount creates a particularly decorative effect. The relief vegetal decor, the organic forms and the combination of colored glass and tin evoke European productions around 1900, notably Bohemian glassware. The style recalls the works of Wilhelm Kralik Sohn, or Loetz, without, however, allowing a definite attribution in the absence of a mark. In which interior to place it? It would be superb in an Art Nouveau, Haussmannian, eclectic or vintage chic interior, but also in a very minimal contemporary decoration where its vegetal decor and its pale green color become the focal piece. It can also work very well in a high-end Japandi interior or in a décor inspired by old Europe. Photos 6 and 7 will help you envision it in an Art Nouveau and contemporary interior.
