This postwar design movement was heavily influenced by the emerging spaceflight, the discovery of atomic structures, and the fascination with speed and the future. You can recognize the style by the following specific features: • Asymmetry: The dynamic, slanted form that runs off to one side (often referred to as a boomerang- or fishtail-shape). • Abstract hour markers: The numbers are omitted and replaced by twelve raised, bulb-shaped brass buttons.
