全部拍賣 / Miscellaneous / Arflex - Marcello Cuneo - Armchair (2) - Metal
Pair of armchairs model "Cross", designed by Marcello Cuneo in 1974 for Arflex. to be restored. This model received an Honour Mention at the Compasso d'Oro Award in 1979. The load-bearing structure is made of tubular metal, characterized by an X interlocking system: the two U-shaped tubes are connected to each other by a lightweight alloy joint; fabric covers with a load-bearing function are slipped over the two frames, supporting the seat and back cushions, padded with acrylic fibers. Condition report: The armchairs are structurally sound and solid. However, they remain in their original condition and require a complete restoration. Metal frame: Solid, showing normal signs of wear and light scratches. Upholstery and padding: The original fabric and internal padding are damaged and worn with time (as shown in the photos) and need replacement. A full re-covering and replacement of the foam are therefore necessary. An excellent opportunity for collectors and fans of mid-century modern to customize the upholstery of a great Italian design classic. Shipping notes: Due to size and current conditions, pickup in the area is preferred, at the buyer’s expense, at Olgiate Comasco (CO).
