Old traditional hand-carved wooden architectural element depicting two stylized elephants facing each other. Separated by a central ornament and flanked by floral curls. In good condition, considering its age. With remnants of polychrome finish and gold leaf. Dating is not known. Origin: probably South or Southeast Asia, where elephants are often used as bearing or protective symbols in architecture. Dimensions: 19 x 17 x 8 cm On panel of 33 x 25 cm Carefully packed.
