Primo GMT Bronze is a diver built with a material that very few actually use: solid marine bronze CuSn6, the alloy employed in naval environments to withstand seawater. Not a coating, not a surface treatment applied to steel: the case, bezel and crown are bronze through and through, from the exterior to the core. This is what makes every specimen different from all the others. Bronze reacts to air, to skin, to salt spray, and over time develops a patina that no other watch will have: it darkens in the engravings, lightens where the sleeve friction polishes it. Who buys an Arcaido does not buy a finished object, but an object that keeps on working. The GMT function allows reading a second time zone thanks to a fourth central hand, paired with the 24-hour scale printed on the dial: home time remains on the main hands, the second time zone is read on the 24-hour scale, with quick time zone and date adjustment. A tool designed for travelers who want to keep two times in view. The construction is that of a true instrument. 300 meters of water resistance, unidirectional 120-click bezel with matte black ceramic insert — raised numbers and scale, a material that resists scratching and staining — sapphire glass with anti-reflective treatment, black dial with applied indices and Swiss Super-LumiNova BWG9, white in daylight and blue in the dark. The exhibition case back in 316L steel with sapphire lets you observe the Swiss automatic movement at work: circular graining, blued screws and a customized IP black rotor that spins with every wrist movement. It’s a finish usually not found in this price range, and here it is not hidden under a closed case back. The strap is Made in Italy leather, hand-stitched and interchangeable thanks to two removable end-links. In the luxury box you’ll find the second strap in NBR rubber and the complete tool kit: the bronze buckle is one piece and moves from one strap to the other with the kit provided.
