ANTONIO PANDIANI (MILANO

Splendid and rare pair of two-light candelabra entirely made in bronze, signed under the base by the famous Milanese sculptor and founder Antonio Pandiani (Milan). The work is an exceptional example of artistic fusion in the Art Nouveau / Liberty style. The structure of the candelabra develops like a true organic vegetal trellis, with sinuous arms molded on a flowering stem. The worked bases welcome the branches that split to support large blossoming buds and finely chased drip-plates in the shape of chrysanthemum or dahlia leaves and petals, anti-drip plates. Each element reflects extraordinary manual craftsmanship, typical of Milanese workshops at the end of the 19th century. The millimetric difference in height between the two pieces (18.5 cm and 18.7 cm) testifies to the total and refined artisanal workmanship. SIGNATURE: Both candelabra feature under the base the inscription with the stamp of the renowned foundry/sculptor: A.
