Oil on canvas, handmade by a contemporary, little-known artist (legible signature at the bottom right), who reinterprets with vibrant, textural brushstrokes the famous self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh wearing a gray felt hat (1887-88, Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam). The blue background animated by decisive touches, the reddish beard with energetic strokes, and the light hat rendered with thick brushstrokes faithfully evoke the expressive, pointillist style of the Dutch master.
