This necklace takes us back to a summer nearly 120 years ago. Over the bay of Naples, the sun is already low on the horizon. A light breeze blows from the sea, the lemons are in bloom, and in the shade of the spread sails, the weary travellers from the north gaze far across the smooth water. How distant the rain-soaked homeland seems, with its duties, work, and struggles. How beautiful and carefree life is here! Coral was once the typical souvenir jewellery for travellers to Italy. This necklace is also such a piece of summer jewellery. The salmon-coloured coral has been hand-polished into beautiful beads, which increase in size towards the centre, strung together in succession. The necklace appears uniformly salmon-coloured, but upon closer inspection, the subtly different tones of the natural material become apparent. We had the chain restrung so that the necklace can continue to adorn with ease today.
