Antique Chinese Famille Rose Teapot – Guan Yao Nei Zao...

A beautiful and highly decorative antique Chinese famille rose porcelain teapot, probably dating to the late Qing Dynasty or early Republic period, circa 1880–1920. This charming teapot features an elegant rounded body, a gracefully curved spout and a distinctive tall overhead handle with iron-red enamel decoration. The porcelain body is finely hand-painted in vibrant famille rose enamels, depicting lively traditional Chinese figural and mythological scenes. The decoration includes elegantly dressed figures, a colourful mythical creature, flowing garments and delicate natural details, beautifully executed in shades of turquoise, pink, green, orange and iron red. The tall arched handle is particularly attractive, with its subtly moulded surface and iron-red enamel accents. The fitted conical lid features delicate black painted details and a rounded porcelain finial. An interesting feature is the four-character mark on the underside, reading Guan Yao Nei Zao (官窯內造), meaning "Made within the Official Kiln". The underside features a traditional unglazed circular foot rim with natural signs of age. Condition: Excellent antique condition, with natural age-related traces of use, particularly to the foot rim, as visible in the photographs. An attractive and collectible example of Chinese famille rose porcelain, combining traditional figural decoration, an elegant overhead-handle design and an interesting historical porcelain mark.
