Antique Bracelet with Diamonds & Natural Pearl in Platinum on Gold, c. 1920

Some pieces of jewelry derive their appeal not from a multitude of sparkling diamonds, nor from their size, nor from the contrast of brilliant colours—but precisely from a deliberate use of restraint as a stylistic device. The trio stands out only subtly in size and color from the rest of the bracelet, which is designed as a narrow line.
