全部拍賣 / Carpets, Rugs & Textile / Antique Bidjar Rug, Persian Kurdistan, circa 1880–1900 - 7 ft 2 in
Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs Antique Bidjar Rug, Persian Kurdistan, circa 1880–1900 Size: 7 ft 2 in x 4 ft 9 in (2.18 m x 1.45 m) Provenance: From a distinguished Santa Barbara dealer A robust antique Bidjar rug from Persian Kurdistan, a weaving center famous for producing some of the most substantial and durable carpets in Persia. Bidjar weavers traditionally compressed the wefts during production, creating a dense, compact foundation capable of supporting closely organized ornament and substantial wool pile. This demanding construction contributed to Bidjar’s historic reputation as the “iron rug of Persia.” The present example combines practical durability with the powerful drawing and saturated visual character sought by collectors of Kurdish and northwest Persian weaving. Condition Request Condition Report Lot #435 is in very good condition. The pile is full and even, with no visible signs of wear. Both ends are complete and hand-secured, and the sides are secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. The rug is clean and floor-ready. Please contact our rug experts at auction@nazmiyal.com or call us for any questions you may have at 212.545.8029. Please note that all lots are sold "AS IS. " Condition reports are given as a courtesy to our clients and shall not be deemed as a guarantee of the lot's condition, quality, and authenticity. The absence of a condition report does not imply the item is in perfect condition.
