Ancient Roman

Roman Bronze Anthropomorphic Mount – 1st to 3rd Century AD A cast bronze mount formed as a stylised head above a long, tapering attachment stem. The face has a prominent brow, recessed eyes and a projecting nose and chin, giving the small object a striking sculptural presence despite the wear to its details. The stem indicates that it was intended to be fitted into or onto a larger object, possibly as a decorative terminal, although its original setting cannot be identified from the photographs. Its dark brown and green surface retains lighter deposits within the recesses, together with irregular wear and corrosion across the head and stem. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 4.1 cm height. Weight: 27.8 gr Provenance: Adquired in Germany from an auction house in 2026.
