AN EXTENSIVE ARCHIVE RELATING TO JOURNALIST ROBERT JAMESON AN OFFICER OF THE GREAT WAR. An extensive archive of material belonging to 14933 Robert Jameson from Lincoln who enlisted on the 7th September 1915 with the 7th (Service) Battalion of the Northamptonshire Regiment (Mobbs Own) until February 1917 when he was commissioned to the Royal Fusiliers (City of London) Regiment. During the Second World War he served as adjutant of a training battalion of the R.A.O.C. before transferring to the R.E.M.E. Wounded on the 15th October 1915 and the 18th May 1916 he saw plenty of action which he recalled in post-war journalism including a report of the Battle of loos with the 7th Northampton. An archive comprising 'Small Book' ID tags, binoculars, the case dated 1917, compass, cameras, numerous photographs to include official photographs and privately taken images, portrait images in uniform, postcards, press cuttings, copies of 'Chums Weekly' with articles by Jameson including personal accounts, official documents and many others.
