American Express Travel Department souvenir log book, 1922, issued for the first continuous round-the-world cruise. The volume is bound in dark green pebble-grained cloth with a recessed gilt-stamped panel on the front board. Text on the cover reads MY LOG BOOK OF THE SS LACONIA AMERICAN EXPRESS CRUISE AROUND THE WORLD 1922-1923, featuring a circular emblem at the bottom right containing the characters A E CO. The interior includes a printed title page reading ROUND THE WORLD CRUISE S. S. LACONIA Sailing from New York November 21, 1922 Under the Direction of the AMERICAN EXPRESS COMPANY. A detailed printed itinerary is included for the voyage spanning November 21, 1922, to March 30, 1923, on the chartered Cunard Line vessel. The majority of the book consists of blank, ruled pages intended for personal travel entries.
