全部拍賣 / Furniture, Design & Mirrors / Altarpiece - Heavy tabernacle with fireproof safe door...
Beautiful antique tabernacle from a chapel in Sambreville (near Namur). Circa 1880-1900. The frontispiece is in bronze with images of wheat and a grapevine. Also the PSX symbol and the IHS with cross symbol. Everything is still intact. The base construction is of heavy metal. When you open the heavy door - the lock works perfectly; with 2 keys - you see a beige curtain where the chalice used to be kept. The tabernacle is a very heavy piece (100 kg) with a very thick door and 4 thick locking bolts. The lock has 2 keys with a very special design: the left part and the right part of the key pin lie at an angle of 160 degrees, which makes the lock unique. So the TABERNACLE can just as well be used as a FIREPROOF SAFE. This impressive antique tabernacle (which can also serve as a safe) exudes authenticity, craftsmanship and timeless elegance. The solid construction is finished on the front with a warm bronze-to-brass tone and a beautiful natural patina, while the richly decorated door features the religious IHS monogram, a cross and graceful grapevines with clusters of grapes — symbols pointing to the Christian tradition. Dimensions are: Width: 50 cm Height: 60 cm Depth: 46 cm Weight: 100 kg - 120 kg (just able to be carried by two people). Can be delivered on a pallet in agreement with the buyer, depending on the country it has to go to. NOTE: I could not choose the option “collection only.” The Catawiki system requires me to enter shipping costs. Hence the everywhere marked “111” = fake entry. CORRECT is: * Can be picked up at 3770 Riemst, Belgium. * Can also be delivered on a pallet in agreement with the buyer, depending on the country it has to go to. So the shipping costs “111” I was forced to enter by the system are fake. * PICKUP TIP: Riemst is about 7 km from Tongeren, where weekly on Sunday morning the LARGEST ANTIQUE MARKET of the BeNeLux takes place. All nationalities come to look/buy. You can combine picking up the statue with a visit to the antique market and then return home on Sunday afternoon. Moreover, Riemst is also about 5 km from Maastricht and 15 km from Liège.
