The proposed graphics are the offspring of a personal imprinting rich in eclectic cues, ranging from road signs to modern techniques for protecting sensitive data. The decoration includes phosphorescent elements that become legible only in the dark. Since production began in 1994, this corkscrew has become an iconic and sought-after bestseller. “I remember when, as a child, my grandmother at the table opened the bottle of wine; it always seemed to me a beautiful performance, a kind of ritual ballet: the head turning, the arms rising and falling […] I decided then to create an anthropomorphic object. I drew a ballerina.” Thus Alessandro Mendini recounts the birth of the Anna G. corkscrew.
