A Day for Two Rods with boat at Clywedog Trout Fishery, Llanidloes, Wales Clywedog fishery is a 615 acre reservoir in the upper Severn catchment that was built in the 1960's. Set in the dramatic steep sided valley, Clywedog winds itself around precipitous hillsides clothed in bracken. The fishery is headed by world class competition angler Russell Owen and his team of dedicated rangers, who typically stock 35,000 fish each year, including rainbows, browns, blues, goldies and tigers. Wild brown trout are also present. Double figure fish regularly feature in the catches. Clywedog has a large fleet of boats with petrol boat engines, a modern boat jetty and an on-site cabin where you can purchase permits, fishing tackle, snacks, and use toilet facilities.
