46pc Collection of Maritime and Amazon Travel Postcards

Collection of vintage postcards and ephemera primarily focused on maritime travel and South American exploration. The group includes a souvenir envelope from The Booth Steamship Co. Ltd. of Liverpool, titled Real Photographic Postcards Illustrating the Round Voyage "1,000 Miles up the Amazon" Series C. The envelope contains sepia-toned real photographic postcards (RPPCs) depicting various Brazilian locations including Manaus, Fortaleza, and Ceara. Captions include "Theatre Square, Manaus, En Fete", "The Cathedral, Manaus", "A Jangada on the Beach at Ceara", "Ornamental Steps, Fortaleza", "The Hotel at Pirapora, Ceara", and "The Bathing Pool at Pirapora, Ceara". The lot further includes loose postcards, many in protective sleeves, featuring various ocean liners such as the S.S. Cleveland and vessels from the Scandinavian-American Line and North German Lloyd.
