2pc Volkstedt and Dresden German Porcelain Lace Courting Figurines

Pair of German porcelain figurines in the Rococo style, featuring hand-applied porcelain lace and polychrome decoration. The Volkstedt figurine depicts a standing couple engaged in a dance; the woman wears a tiered dress with pink porcelain lace ruffles and applied floral blossoms, while the man wears a green frock coat with lace cuffs and cravat. The underside of this piece is marked with a printed blue crown, made in Germany in blue script, and a small hand-painted blue numeral. The Dresden figurine depicts a seated courtship scene with a woman in a lace-trimmed gown and a man kneeling at her side. The base of the second piece features a blue mark and a number is incised into the porcelain at the rear of the base. Both figures are mounted on scrolled white bases accented with gilt highlights.
