ipozzano Vecchie Viti 2022 is one of the most representative selections of Castello Nipozzano, the historic estate of the Frescobaldi family in Chianti Rufina, northeast of Florence. The wine comes from the oldest vines on the estate, characterized by deep root systems. Frescobaldi has chosen it to carry forward a particular family tradition: reserving a Private Collection on the occasion of the birth of new family members. It is produced mainly from Sangiovese, accompanied by traditional complementary varieties. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and undergo spontaneous fermentation in cement vats; the wine then matures for 24 months in oak barrels, following Tuscan tradition, followed by a further bottle ageing. The 2022 vintage presents a ruby red color. On the nose, red and black berries emerge, accompanied by elegant spicy notes of pepper and cinnamon. On the palate it is complex and persistent, with hints of blackberry and gooseberry, soft and well-balanced tannins, good sapidity and structure. The finish is long, elegant and pleasantly fruity. Lot of 6 bottles of 0.75 L, as shown in the photographs. Labels, capsules and fill levels as in the photo. Bottles stored with care.
