2022 Dominio del Águila

Dominio del Águila is the compelling project Jorge Monzón founded in 2010 in La Aguilera (Burgos). Jorge built his sensitivity, craftsmanship and know-how at legendary estates such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Vega Sicilia, and they have made Dominio del Águila one of the most sought-after names in Ribera del Duero. The estate holds a remarkable heritage of very old vines, many of them pre-phylloxera. These vines have been gradually restored and are now certified organic. Vino Fino de Paraje Calizo 2022 comes from a very old vineyard, most of it planted in the late 19th century on marl with calcareous sandstone. When the team vinified its Albillo Mayor, it became clear there was something truly out of the ordinary about this singular plot. This great white is a rarity in Ribera del Duero, and production is limited to just 948 bottles.
