2011 Penfolds Grange Bin 95 - South Australia - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

Evaluation of René Gabriel: 100% Shiraz. Extremely dark in the center, with almost black reflections, noticeable purple tint at the rim. Warm, expansive bouquet, pleasantly emanating, lots of plums and cassis; the sweetness alternates after a few minutes with a dark spice, a milky undertone that gives it nasal fullness. On the palate creamy, dancing between red- and blue-berry nuances, great fullness and soft, yet fat tannins on display. A mouthful of Grange with a finish of kitchen herbs, pruning plums, cinnamon, and black currant. Rare has a Grange been so Burgundian! And rare has a Grange been so unrestrainedly ready from the first moment! 19/20 points. A wine experience that one never forgets! The wine rested lying down in my wine fridge immediately after purchase.
