The sculptures are miniature interpretations of the Sogo Bo masquerade puppets used during ceremonies. The association of young men is responsible for the masquerades once the harvest is finished. The puppets (fish sculptures) are used in competitions to find the best performers. The Bozo people are also known as "masters of the river" and their culture and artworks are centered on their interaction with the Niger River. The puppets make superb works of art for your home, and each one is very different from the other.
