Masseto 1994 – Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, Tuscany IGT 750 ml bottle of Masseto 1994, Tuscany IGT. Merlot in purity from the famous blue clay vineyard of Bolgheri, aged 24 months in French oak barriques. The 1994 is a historic vintage for the estate: it is considered by the producer itself the vintage in which Masseto first defined its true identity — an opulent, rich and layered wine, with notes of dried black cherry, earth, coffee and dark chocolate. Antonio Galloni (Vinous) tasted it in 2020 awarding 95/100 and describing it as a complete and seductive wine, fully mature. Absolute rarity: Masseto production in the 1990s was extremely limited. Storage Stored by private individual in a constant-temperature environment, away from light, with the label protected by a transparent film since purchase.
