Replacing the beloved W113 280 SL in 1971, for 18 years the R107 proved itself a more than worthy successor in markets worldwide. While all US versions were equipped with V-8 power and automatic transmissions, the rest of the world was offered additional sporting engine choices. ‌ This remarkable 1984 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL was delivered in Belgium with its 2.8-liter DOHC six mated to a rare five-speed manual gearbox.
