In the offered wine, sediment and/or natural deposits may be present. This wine comes from the remainder stock of the Mainz Court Cellar, which we took over after the company closed. According to the managing director of the Court Cellar, the wines were regularly checked by the in-house cellar master and recorked if the corks were leaking. The Mainz Court Cellar complex also included the Fürstenbergerhof winery in Mainz and the original Anton Siepchen estate in Nackenheim, which had vineyards in Nackenheim – Rheinhessen and in the Rheingau. White wines tend to darken in color (similar to Cognac, Sherry, or amber) and may develop sediment; red wines often have a deposit at the bottom of the bottle. An appearance and taste experience different from young wines is not unusual for aged wines. For wine lovers who have trouble with the sometimes fresh, pronounced acidity of young wines, aged wines can be a true pleasure, as the wine acidity loses strength and aggressiveness over the years.
