1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Pininfarina

1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Pininfarina - Ferrari Classiche certification, - Original engine, gearbox and colour - One of 11 examples delivered in Verde Pino - Freshly restored to a very high standard - Ex-Folch collection, history documented by Marcel Massini This ‘short-nose’ Ferrari 275 GTB was supplied new in Spain, to the official Ferrari distributor Rugico SA in Madrid, before being sold shortly afterwards to a resident of Geneva, who registered it as ‘GE ‘57243’. It was finished in ‘Verde Pino’ (106-G-30) with beige Connolly leather upholstery (VM3218), a relatively rare and particularly elegant combination. As the history established by Marcel Massini confirms, on 6 May 1970, it returned to the factory, where it was given a service, with the odometer reading 10,755km. In August 1989, it was in the ownership of Joaquim Folch, from Barcelona, a leading collector and ‘gentleman driver’ who was active in the world of historic cars; it was painted red with a yellow stripe, and it was in this guise that it appeared in the book Collector’s Garage. Folch kept the car until 2006, when it was sold to Gregor Fiskens, a world-renowned specialist in classic cars, based in the heart of London, at Queen’s Gate Place Mews. On 6 December that year, a certificate of authenticity (no. 393) was issued by Ferrari Classiche, confirming its historical integrity; repainted entirely in red, it was registered in England as ‘KYY 553C’. In October 2012, it was advertised for sale by Fiskens in the magazine Classic & Sportscar and in February 2016, it was again offered for sale, this time by DK Engineering, who carried out maintenance work on the car. It was then repainted in its original colour and, in February 2017, it was sold at auction in Paris, before joining Thierry Dehaeck’s collection on 20 May 2019, where it found a worthy home. As it did not correspond to his idea of excellence, Dehaeck sent the 275 GTB to the renowned Belgian specialist Éric Brumenil for a complete restoration. Begun in January 2022, the work was completed in January 2024, and the first event the car took part in was the Salon Privé Concours d'Élégance in England. Later that year, it had the honour of being featured in the press, notably with a comprehensive report in the magazine Rétroviseur in October 2024. In April 2025, it was awarded first prize in the ‘GR8 International Car Show’ at Courtrai, where it was shown together with two other jewels from Thierry Dehaeck’s collection, his Ferrari Daytona Spyder and Maserati Ghibli Spyder. Today, this splendid motorcar is presented in its beautiful original colour of ‘Verde Pino’, with its magnificent interior equipped with superb bucket seats completely retrimmed in leather and cloth. According to Dehaeck, “The 275 GTB is one of the most highly regarded Ferraris of all and epitomizes the quick Grand Touring car of the 1960s”. This is especially true of this stocky, pure-looking ‘short-nose’ version. Ferrari’s first road-going car equipped with a transaxle and independent rear suspension, the 275 GTB was powered by a 3.3-litre version of the V12 designed by Gioacchino Colombo, developing about 280bhp. Its body was designed by Pininfarina, with a long bonnet ahead of a streamlined passenger compartment and a small rear spoiler recalling the styling of the sublime 250 GTO competition model. Counting all the different versions, fewer than 800 examples of the 275 GTB and GTB/4 were built. This magnificent car will be sold with several historical documents, including its precious red certification binder from Ferrari Classiche, as well as bills, catalogues, its FIVA ID card, a history report from Marcel Massini and numerous photographs. In its rare colour and near-perfect condition, this car is a credit to this rare model, one of the most iconic and sought-after road-going Ferraris ever built.
