"1789" Mott Token. Rulau-E NY 612, Breen-1024. Thick Planchet. Engrailed Edge. AU-58 (PCGS). Rich copper brown with tinges of deep olive. From an early state of the dies with minimal stretching of the peripheral legends, no cud at the corner of the clock, and strong details throughout, especially at the eagle, one of the notoriously weak spots for the issue. Choice and appealing at many levels. If you mean to own a nice Mott token for type purposes, you can probably end your search right here! Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 606.
