1488 CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS ASSOCIATIO

A document signed by King Ferdinand V of Spain & Queen Isabella November 28, 1488. A single sheet measuring 22 x 26 cms. Handwritten in Spanish by the royal secretary Fernando Ulverez de Toledo and signed by "Yo el Ray" as King of Castille and Aragon, and Yo la Reyna" as Queen of Castille. The document concerns supplies for the war effort. Allowing the city of Loja to purchase provisions from the cities and towns of Andalusia. The victory against the Muslims gave Ferdinand the interest and money to enable him to soon after fund Christopher Columbus in his trip to the Americas. There is some ancient water soiling to about a quarter of the document
